👻 Fun Fact: Halloween has ancient roots dating back over 2,000 years. Halloween's origins can be traced to the Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced "sow-in"), which marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter in what is now the United Kingdom, Ireland, and northern France.

During Samhain, Celts believed that the boundary between the living and the dead became blurred, allowing spirits to roam the earth. People would dress in costumes made of animal skins and heads to ward off evil spirits, and they would light bonfires to both repel malevolent entities and celebrate the changing of seasons.

When the Roman Empire conquered Celtic territories, elements of Samhain were incorporated into the Roman festival of Feralia and the feast of Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruit and trees. Over time, as Christianity spread, the celebration of All Saints' Day was established on November 1st, with the night before becoming known as All Hallows' Eve, which eventually evolved into Halloween.

The traditions and customs associated with Halloween have continued to evolve over the centuries, including the practice of dressing up in costumes, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, and going door-to-door for treats. Today, Halloween is celebrated in various forms around the world and has become a popular holiday for costumes, parties, and spooky fun.
